eBooks and Audiobooks

Overdrive logoOverdrive eBooks and e-audiobooks can be accessed through your computer browser, or through the SImplyE or Libby apps on your mobile device.

The SimplyE app has a larger title list, because it also includes an additional 20,000 titles provided by the Texas State Library & Archive though the E-Read program.

Getting Started

  • Install the free SimplyE app from your device's app store. (If you see New York Public Library, that's the right one! NYPL first developed the app.)
When prompted, scroll the library list to find Atlanta Public Library, TX.
  • Input your library card number and pin to borrow books. Use your library card number (including the letter at the beginning), and your PIN is the 4-digit year you were born.
  • Now browse or search the catalog and borrow eBooks and audiobooks instantly.

FAQs

  • Can I use SimplyE with my Kindle?

    • Unfortunately, no. This is a choice Amazon has made, to partner only with Overdrive for library lending with Kindles. If you find this ridiculous, please reach out to Amazon and let them know!

  • Can I still use Libby or Overdrive?

    • Absolutely! However, the SimplyE collection includes everything that we have on Libby and Overdrive, plus over 20,000 more titles.
For a Libby tutorial, see this lesson from Niche Academy:

  • Can I use SimplyE on an internet browser?

    • No. The full collection is only available through the mobile app. This is because of licensing details with the publishers involved. Our Overdrive collection can be accessed through a browser at https://netldc.overdrive.com, and also through the Libby app on mobile devices.

  • How long do I have an eBook checked out?

    • The lending period varies by title. Some books are free to keep! The books will return themselves automatically.
